5th Biennial Virtual Conference of PAi

WELCOME MESSAGE

It is our great pleasure to invite you for 5th Biennial Virtual Conference of PAi and International Symposium on “Probiotics and Immunity: Way Forward to Microbial Therapy” being organized by Probiotic Association of India (PAi) in association with ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, India on November 19-20, 2020. The aim of the conference is to highlight the role and mechanisms by which probiotics could modulate host immunity and play a role in abating associated diseases, since it is well known that an individual’s immunity is greatly affected by their gut environment. In the current scenario of Covid-19 it is apt to discuss the antiviral, antibacterial and anti-allergic beneficial effects of probiotic bacteria and their bioactive molecules.

In addition, PAi supported various universities across India to organize National Seminars and Workshops covering several aspects of probiotics.

ABOUT ICAR-NDRI

The National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), located in Karnal (Haryana) is a premier research organisation under the aegis of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Established in 1923 at Bengaluru; the headquarters of the Institute were moved to present location at Karnal in 1955. It has two regional stations, one at Bangalore and the other at Kalyani for providing region-specific support suited to their agro-climatic conditions. ICAR-NDRI has the distinction of being a Deemed University for implementing its academic programmes since 1989. The Institute has been ranked first among all Agricultural Universities of India including 4 Deemed Universities consecutively for the second time in the year 2017-18. It is engaged in providing R&D support for dairy development programmes of the nation and is a highly reputed university for human resource development in the field of dairying and allied sciences. The Institute has three major areas of R & D activities viz. 1) Dairy Production 2) Dairy Processing 3) Dairy Extension and Management, managed by 13 Research Divisions/Sections. There are more than 1000 students enrolled in various disciplines for under-graduation, post-graduation and doctoral programme.
